Marathon Update

Right now I'm drinking my first after-run protein shake. It's a scoop of soy protein (by savas), about a cup of low-fat milk, a small banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter whipped all to hell in my blender to make it foamy (don't wanna use ice...it's cold outside). This one tastes good. But I'll want to experiment with various ingredients to see what I can get. Got a big bag of the stuff so I can have 1-2 scoops a day until the marathon. Moo Cow was fabulously helpful in picking out a mix since there are about 50 at Bic Camera, blah. I got a big bag of soy protein and he got a can of whey protein so I can try it to see how it is. His is vanilla flavored and mine has no flavor so I'm a little jealous. But he says whey tastes waaaay worse.

Yesterday I found out if I finish the race I can have a photo sent to my phone (one photo is free) so if I finish I'll be sure to post it EVERYWHERE because holy crap I finished a marathon. But if I don't I'll be all frowny so don't ask for it if I don't post it.

So there's a marathon update. Time for some water to get the last of the shake and then a shower.

Recipe: Peanut Buttered Banana Smoothie
1 cup low-fat milk
1 small banana
1 heaping tablespoon creamy peanut butter
1 scoop protein powder

Put everything in a blender, being sure to put the protein powder in last so it doesn't settle in at the bottom. Then let it blend all to hell. Woo!

EDIT: And when you rinse the glass with a little water and drink it? That tastes TERRIBLE! *gag* (not really surprised though)
